Suspended Time Series

Two new concourses are currently being constructed at Jacksonville International Airport.  Julia Morrisroe of Gainesville, Florida was chosen to address the entrance to two restrooms in Concourse C.

Focusing on the environment found around her, Morrisroe looks critically at the “stuff” that fills our space, that arrives in our mailboxes, that is marketed to us in catalogs or pop-up windows and imagines the metaphysical impact of this visual “stuff” on our society.

For this project Morrisroe will draw, redraw and finally scan into patterns geometric, organic and found shapes that reference North Florida flora and fauna.  Images will be printed on archival paper.
