Sky Bridges, Airworks Studio, 2011

Artists George Peters and Melanie Walker make up Airworks Studio, and are from Boulder, Colorado. The aerial sculpture works with the architecture of the connector bridge to amplify the natural light in the bridge's skylight areas. The arcs in the work relate to the air flight paths of take offs and landings and the structure is reminiscent of the many bridges which are landmarks in the Jacksonville area. The forms literally float in the space by multiple thin suspension cables fanned toward the upper skylight beams.
