Cloudscapes

Two new concourses are currently being constructed at Jacksonville International Airport.  The artist team of Greenwood and Healy of New York City was chosen to address the entrance to two restrooms in Concourse A.

Each entrance will be a photographic image digitized and then translated into pixels of colored glass.   When viewed from several feet, the individual tiles blend visually and the overall pictorial image is read; yet, when viewed from a distance of just one or two feet, the image is seen as a grid of harmonious and randomly-placed colored squares.
